Privacy policy

KeepCallsSafe is an Android app that rejects unwanted calls, such as calls from hidden numbers. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes and what your rights are. The short version: the app checks calls on your phone, and your calls and contacts never leave it.

What the app uses, and why

We do not operate a server that receives any of this. The app has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not require an account.
Permissions
- Call screening role – lets Android ask the app about an incoming call before it rings.
- Contacts – see above. Optional; without it the app will not block international numbers, so a friend abroad is never blocked by mistake.
- Notifications – to tell you when a call was blocked (you can switch this off in the app) and to remind you before your free trial ends.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. Google shares with the app only the subscription status described above. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Legal basis
We process this information to provide the service you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Because it all stays on your device, we do not have access to it.
This website and email
This website uses no cookies and no analytics. Our hosting provider, OVHcloud (in the EU), keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operation. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and keep them only as long as needed to help you.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. As the app keeps everything on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. For anything else, email support@keepcallssafe.com.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission or the supervisory authority in your country.
Changes
If we add features that need to send information off your phone (for example, checking whether a caller's number is spoofed), we will update this policy first and ask for your consent in the app where required.
